ParticipantHello Modern Tribe Support.
I’m experiencing an issue with updating the two plugins… again. The first time was resolved by reading the forums but it has reared its ugly head again. Essentially, the base module is not showing an update (3.2 to 3.3) is available, however, the PRO version does.
Last time I had to deactivate the base module, rename the folder (added “BU” to it), download the new version from your website, activate it, etc. While it works, the old version (which I renamed the folder to include BU) still shows up in the plugin list but is not activated. The version I downloaded at that time (3.2) is activated and all is working correctly (except this most recent update issue).
My questions are:
1 – Is it safe to delete the original version of the plugin that I replaced (the one I added BU to) and deactivated?
2 – Why am I still having the same issue with updates showing for the PRO version and not the base module?
3 – How do I update the base module so I can update the PRO version without going thru the hassle I did before?Thank you in advance for any help!

ParticipantHowdy lacoatingsociety,
I would be glad to help you. Here are my responses:
1) It should be. Since you can redownload past versions from our site at any time, deleting the plugin folder should not prove to be a problem. The only exception I can think of is if you have made direct modifications to our plugin instead of using our APIs or hooks. But, since you already have the new plugin up and running it sounds like you can safely delete the old.
2) I did not find your past topic, so perhaps I am asking you questions you previously answered. But just in case, have you successfully registered you license key with the plugin? This straightforward guide walks you through it, and it is very easy. Getting the license key affects your update process.
3) In the same sentence you appear to indicate that the base module is showing an update, then say it is not. I am a bit confused as to whether it is the Pro version or the “base” one that is giving you a problem. I will address both possibilities just in case.
To manually update the Pro version: Download a copy of it from here. Rename the old folder as you are accustomed to, then extract the new one in its place. When you are satisfied that everything works as expected, delete the old plugin folder.
To manually update the base, my instructions are the same as above except you would download it from here.
You are welcome. Let me know if you run into hiccups, or if you need further explanation of anything. Thanks!
– Brook
