ParticipantHello,
My client’s site is at Wordpres version 4.1.16.
It is using the following plugins:
Event Tickets 4.1.2
Event Tickets Plus 4.1.2
Events Calendar 4.1.2
WooCommerce 2.5.5
WooCommerce GA Integration 1.3.0I see that the Event plugins are all now at version 4.4.5.
What is the recommended update path?
Can I go straight from 4.1.2 to 4.4.5 ?
Should I upgrade your plugins before attempting to upgrade WooCommerce to 3.0.2 ?Thanks,

MemberHey David,
Great question! I’m really glad you asked because updating from older versions can be super tricky and it’s a good idea to be as safe as possible.
That’s why I’d recommend testing all of your updates in a safe development environment. If you are not currently running a copy of your site as a testing ground, then I would suggest creating one and using that to ensure everything is in smooth working order before making the same updates on your live site.
The second thing I would recommend is to backup all of your site files and the database before updating. Again, make copies and store them in a place where you can retrieve them should something go awry and you need to restore things to their original state.
I would suggest updating our plugins first, then updating WooCommerce. The latest version of Event Tickets Plus (4.4.5) includes a patch for the recent WooCommerce 3.0 update, so having that plugin ready in advance would be a good way to ensure it is compatible with WooCommerce as soon as WooCommerce is updated.
And, yes, you should be able to go straight from 4.1.2 of our plugins to the latest versions. There were indeed major releases with breaking changes in between there, but this is where having a test site up and running will help ensure you spot and correct any issues before updating on your live site. Also, it would be a good idea to read through our release notes to be aware of the significant changes between releases.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!
