ParticipantHi, I am having a quite serious problem and though having checked the forum I cannot find a way to solve it (I did find others facing the same problem though).
I make a recurring event and save it and then I go to edit my first event in line. Whatever change I make, when I click on the update button the post is not saved and the loader image keeps spinning. Weird thing is that if I try altering any of the other events in line the update works.
I am using WordPress 3.4.2 and plug-in version 2.0.9 (pro and regular)
I would appreciate a quick solution since the calendar is on air! Thanks in advance!

ParticipantHey WebOlution,
Can you try deleting the event and recreating it? How much PHP memory do you have allocated for your site? Have you tried increasing it: http://www.dailyblogging.org/wordpress/increase-wordpress-memory-limit/

ParticipantYes, I tried both (I tried 64MB limit). I guess the problem arises by the fact that the pop up asking you if you want to change all events or just the one you edit, does not appear. Do you have any idea what else might be wrong?

ParticipantHi WebOlution,
Have you tried deactivating all other plugins and/or switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to see if it’s a conflict with either one of those things?

ParticipantI tried all that, still there is a problem.
What we noticed is the following (you can try it in order to reproduce the bug and see what I mean – it happens on our local and live server, thus it has nothing to do with server settings and php versions) and I am afraid it has to do with the way you handle the recurring events.
I create a new recurring event and publish it. Then I go to the events and select to edit the second event of the recurring duplicates created. I click the checkbox in order to select not to have it appear on the upcoming events list (as I normally don’t want to have the same event displaying 10-20 times in line) and on the popup that appears I select to apply it to all events (which applies this change to future events only). This action solves the problem of the event appearing multiple times in the upcoming list but creates another problem. The first event in line is cut off from the recurring and when you see it on the events list (in the administration area) it appears as “Recurring – >No”. The problem is, when you go to edit the first event in line, clicking on the update button doesn’t work and the loader keeps spinning infinitely…
I guess you need to patch your plugin in order to fix this which I believe is quite a serious problem.

ParticipantHi webotools,
Thanks for your insight into the problem. I too had been experiencing this same issue pre 2.0.9 and had not been able to recreate it but I just did with the steps you outlined. I’m reopening our ticket on this and will update here as I know more. Sorry about the inconvenience and stay tuned!
Thanks,

MemberHi webotools – this seems to be the same issue described latterly here:
So we’ll keep the discussion going there just for clarity.
