Upcoming and Feature Widgets sometimes don't display content

Hi,

We’ve got our install of ECP working nicely and we just found something interesting.

On top level page in a sidebar we have the featured event and upcoming event widgets and they work perfectly well and display the content as expected.

All good, except that when displaying a blog archive page there are no events, upcoming or featured displayed in the widget.

Question is, why would the widgets display perfectly fine at the page level and not at the archive level?

All in all a great plugin and calendaring solution. Be nice to solve this one though.

Hi there Byron. This is definitely an interesting issue and one I’d like to look into further; until now, best I can tell, nobody else has reported it. Any chance you have a link to someplace where we can view this in action, to try and diagnose accordingly?

We’re using Content Aware Sidebars (http://www.intox.dk/) to manage our sidebars/widget sets and it seems to be fine on the rest of the site via-a-vis ECP.

Thanks for the follow-up, Byron. That is weird. When I recreate it on my end, I’m seeing the content in the events widgets appearing in both locations. But my theme uses the same sidebar area (under Appearance –> Widgets) to configure these; meaning they’re the same widgets being used in both locations, rather than two separate identical setups of the widget. Is yours configured the same way?

If so, it’s almost certainly a conflict (and I would wager with the Content Aware Sidebars plugin). Are you in a position to test deactivating that?
