ParticipantWe are experiencing a strange error, similar to one posted earlier (linked below). For us, it occurs when viewing single recurring events while the plugin Simple LightBox is active. The error is Unknown column ‘EventStartDate’ in ‘order clause’
and it only appears when viewing a single recurring event. You do not need to be using Simple Lightbox on the page, it only needs to be active. Single one-time events are fine, and other pages/posts are fine as well. Just single recurring events cause this error. The full details of this error (full log shown by query monitor) can be seen on the screenshot attached.
Would very much like a resolution to this issue!

Reporting the same issue as: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/error-in-log/June 12, 2017 at 4:04 pm #1296892Sarah
ParticipantAdditional info:
This error also ONLY occurs when “Show only the first instance of each recurring event” is checked in The Events Calendar settings. So again, steps to repeat (at least on our system):
– create a recurring event
– check box for “Show only the first instance of each recurring event” in Events Calendar settings
– make sure Simple LightBox is enabled.
– view a single instance of a recurring event (on the front end).If you have Query Monitory installed, you can see the error and get details.

MemberHi Amanda!
Thanks for getting in touch! Let me help you with that.
I could reproduce the issue on my own. but it seems the SQL query is coming from the Simple LightBox plugin and I’m not very familiar with this plugin.
Besides de SQL query error, are you also experiencing any functionality problems? Are you not able to make the Simple Lightbox plugin work?
Let me know about it.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Victor, thanks for your reply. The SLB plugin still works even when this database error is being reported.
But I am not sure if this is really a SLB error since it is very definitely referring to Event Calendar settings. My suspicion was that SLB was acting more like a “canary in the coal mine” — ie, revealing an existing problem rather than causing it.

MemberHi Amanda!
Thanks for clearing that out!
Yes, it seems our plugins are involved somehow when performing that database query. I have reached the team to have a second opinion and we don’t really think this is something to worry about. And, as we don’t have any specific functionality conflict related to this, we don’t feel the need to investigate this further at the moment.
If you do find a conflict that you think it might be related to this, please let us know and we’d absolutely investigate that particular issue.
We really appreciate your concern. Thanks for taking your time and reporting this.
As always, don’t hesitate to ask any other questions and we’d be happy to help! 🙂
Best!
