Ben
ParticipantI’ve just purchased Event Aggregator and I’m getting the following error on the Import page. I previously had the Facebook Events plugin, although this is no longer installed. (NB. I’ve changed the actual path to the site root in the error to ‘/path/to’)
Fatal error: Uncaught Error: [] operator not supported for strings in /path/to/content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/Tribe/Aggregator/Migrate.php:119

MemberHi Ben!
I’m sorry you are experiencing that Fatal error. Let me help you with this issue.
The error you are getting is because that specific part of the code is not compatible with PHP version 7.1. I will log a report for this issue to be addressed in a future maintenance release of our plugins.
For the moment, switching to PHP 7.0 will clear the error. Please contact your hosting provider to request this change or if you have access to cPanel you might be able to achieve that yourself. Please let us know if it works for you.
I will link this thread to the report so we can let you know as soon as it’s fixed.
My apologies for the inconvenience and we’d appreciate your patience in the meantime.
Best,

ParticipantOK – thanks Victor. I’ll look into downgrading to PHP 7.0 on my VM.

MemberWe released an update for this issue. Can you update your plugins (preferrably on a staging site) and see if that resolves the issue.

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
