ParticipantIn WordPress 4.2.3 running Easel theme I am getting the following reminder message “The following plugins are out of date: Events Calendar PRO 3.7. All add-ons contain dependencies on The Events Calendar and will not function properly unless paired with the right version.” The (core) Events calendar was updated to Version 3.11 but The Events Calendar PRO is 3.7. I tried updating to the new PRO 3.11 but to no avail. It gave me the following error message:
Unpacking the package…
Installing the plugin…
Destination folder already exists. /var/www/html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/
Plugin install failed.
Return to Plugins pagePlease assist. I tried manually uploading via .zip file but it that’s when I got the error message; also when I tried to update via the WordPress uploader it said it successfully uploaded the 3.7 version; in fact I got this message:
The update process is starting. This process may take a while on some hosts, so please be patient.
Updating Plugin The Events Calendar PRO (1/1)
The plugin is at the latest version.
The Events Calendar PRO updated successfully. Hide Details
All updates have been completed.
Return to Plugins page | Return to WordPress UpdatesI deactivated all the widgets and reactivated; I deactivated only the the current (3.7) PRO and then tried to upload the newer (3.11) PRO but it’s still not working. Pease assist.

ParticipantI had the same problem.
Did you first delete the 3.10 version of the PRO. Other the manual installation will fail.

MemberHi uraaft,
Thanks for reaching out to us, and sorry to hear about your problems with the update 🙁
If updating via WordPress Update page failed, I would recommend doing a manual update. I’ll outline the steps below:
– Making a backup of the files and database of your site is always a good idea. Also testing the update in a staging site and not in production!
– In the topbar of this site go to ‘My Account > Downloads’.
– Download version 3.11 of Events Calendar PRO.
– Go to your ‘WP-Admin > Plugins > Installed plugins’ and de-activate ‘Events Calendar PRO’.
– Delete the ‘events-calendar-pro’ folder from ‘wp-content/plugins/’.
– Unzip the downloaded file.
– Move the ‘events-calendar-pro’ into ‘wp-content/plugins/’.
– Go to your ‘WP-Admin > Plugins > Installed plugins’ and activate ‘Events Calendar PRO’.
@Jan thanks for jumping in 😉Please let me know if following the steps makes the update work,
Best,
