    Hi,

I recently purchased Events Calendar PRO. WordPress gives me this message:
Your version of The Events Calendar is not up-to-date with one of your The Events Calendar add-ons. Please update now.
But at each attempt to update, it tells me it was successful and that the plugin is currently at its most recent version. I am running 2.0.11.

I have downloaded the latest (3.6) from your site, however it results in this message:
    Destination folder already exists. /home/theup216/public_html/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/

    Plugin install failed.

    Thanks for any help.

    Alex

Hi – sorry you’re facing difficulties.

I’m not quite sure why you’d be hitting that problem but would you be able to try upgrading manually? Essentially, grab and unzip the plugin folders then upload them by FTP – overwriting the existing plugin directories (which you could delete first of all).

Please do ensure you backup as an added precaution before trying this, though.

    Is that possible here?

I can do that but will I lose all of my current event information this way?

I have updated to the latest version of wordpress and downloaded and re-installed the 3.6 version of Events Calendar PRO. This has resolved the issue.
    Thanks.

Awesome, glad that you got everything up and running 🙂

For future reference – and in case anyone else comes across this thread – no, data shouldn’t be lost – it all sits in the database and won’t be deleted just because you upgrade manually (nor even if you temporarily deactivate the plugin). That said, every environment is different and there’s always some amount of risk – so making a backup and knowing how to restore that backup is always a wise step.

Thanks again – and I’ll go ahead and close out this thread.
