ParticipantHello There,
we are having some trouble searching for events within a state.weve bought the pro version on the understanding that
“Visitors can search for event in or near their city and state.” as quoted by your website
https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/we are able to search by city and postcode but not by state,
we have installed an api key,
we have found that the function works perfectly on your demo site.we are happy to provide you with a username and password in a more private mode of communication.
we apreciate your assistance on this im afraid it is a requirement for our customer.
Regards Dylan Prior

MemberHey Dylan,
Thanks for reaching out to us! I’ll help you see what’s going on with the search by location.
I’v checked the site but I’m not sure about how Australian addresses are formatted. Can you give me a sample of an event and the state it’s taking place and how’s that not found via search? Also can you please provide a screenshot of the venue settings? I would like to try and reproduce it locally.
Thanks,
NicoPS: please don’t send the site credentials as we are not allowed to log into client sites!

http://wpshindig.com/events/2016-07/?tribe-bar-geoloc-lat=-37.4713077&tribe-bar-geoloc-lng=144.7851531&tribe-bar-geoloc=victhe website from which we made our decision to purchase your product says
“Visitors can search for event in or near their city and state. ” https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/there is events on the 12th december at salon first – burwood which happens to be near melbourne

MemberThanks for following up Dylan and sorry for the delay in my reply!
I think the issue here is you are setting ‘VIC’ as the state in the venue address, and it should be the full state name ‘Victoria’. Can you try to make that change and re-try this? At least that the difference I can see at first sight from your site and the demo one.
Also, please note that when you search in month view the search will just run in the current month (or current week if it’s week view, etc). If the test above doesn’t work, create a new venue with the same address (using full Victoria) and add it to a sample event? One last thing we could try is to set lat and long data for the event.
Please let me know about it,
Best,
