ParticipantHi,
I just bought Event Calendar Pro. I noticed that when Event Calendar Pro is activated, I am unable to create internal links within a page. The customary list of pages to link to inside the site don’t appear. They’ve been replaced by calendar events. I have to deactivate Events Calendar Pro to get the list of pages back so I can link internally. Is there a way to keep this from happening?
Thanks for your time.July 8, 2013 at 7:39 pm #53930Neill
MemberHi Freshtribe
Thanks for getting in contact. And welcome to the forums! Can you tell me a little more about the issue. I’d like to get a better idea of your process when this happens.
First of all are you creating this link within a new regular page on the site or within an events page? Then are you trying to link to something internally from the link icon within the WP WYSIWYG editor like here in this screenshot? http://d.pr/i/1McI
If so when you do this you say its just events that show as options correct? Is this the case if you scroll down the list or if you type the name of a page in the search bar?
Let me know what happens in those instances and hopefully we can point you in the right direction.

ParticipantHi,
Thanks for your response. Hopefully I can be more specific. Unfortunately, the screenshot did not open so I’ll try to explain. When Events Calendar Pro is activated, I create a new page or open an existing page in WordPress.
I highlight text on the page I wish to link and press the link button.
It gives me an option to enter a link to a destination URL or link to existing content.
When I try to link to existing content, only events appear – but not all events. My regular list of WP pages does not appear and the search bar comes back with “No pages found”
This happens when I work on WP Posts as well.
When I deactivate Events Calendar Pro, the problem is solved.Perhaps I should only edit the site with Events CP deactivated? Any thoughts.
Thanks for your time.

MemberHi Freshtribe.
Thanks for the info. I thought that might be what you were doing but I just wanted to be sure.
We too see the issue on our end, and this issue is currently being worked on by our team as quick fix. This will be released ASAP.
In the mean time it looks like you are creating content while deactivating the plugin, which isn’t ideal I know. Apologies for this inconvenience. The other alternative, without deactivating the plugin, is to have a second window or tab in your browser open and copy and paste what ever links you need. Sounds obvious I know, but hold tight that fix should be here soon.
Thanks again for your detailed description. It all helps when it comes to isolating these issues and working on a fix.

MemberJust wanted to note that I can reproduce this as well with 3.0+ activated. The problem is not specific to PRO as I can duplicate with just the free events calendar activated.
I did a bit of digging around and back tracing. The problem’s coming from the fact that the plugin is being too aggressive in overwriting the query. The initial issue comes from the fact that during the query executed from the wp_link_query() function, The Event Calendar’s setDisplay() method from the-events-calendar-class.php returns “month” instead of false or something else. From there a whole series of things trickle down because the query is being treated as an events query and stuff that shouldn’t gets overwritten.
I wrote a small plugin that works around this issue – https://gist.github.com/jkudish/0d71bd3a0f7748a3f912. This is a huge hack, so run it at your own risk, and no guarantees from me that it’ll work. It’s up to Tribe to fix the issue properly.
Not a trivial fix either since I’m sure a lot of how the queries revolves around this.

MemberHi Joey,
Thank you very much for your hard work in finding a way around this. We should be able to update all our users very soon on when to expect a release fix. I’ll post as soon as I hear and will look into this with our developers again tomorrow.
