    Hi

I’m running the Cherry Framework (by Template Monster) on about half-a-dozen sites. It looks like the Events Calendar is throwing the “TypeError: a.parseHTML is not a function” exception on all of them.

From other posts, I’ve seen that upgrading from jQuery 1.7.2 to 1.8.1 will probably do the trick, but the Cherry Framework doesn’t really allow for this (without modding the original theme). The “Switch jQuery Version” plugin doesn’t work either.

Is it possible to provide a solution, or mod the Event’s plugin so we don’t need to mess with the Cherry Framework files?

    Hi,

    Thanks for using our plugins.

We support the latest version of jQuery shipped with WordPress. We are unable to support a 4 year old version of jQuery.

Upgrading to using the version of jQuery that WordPress ships with (1.11.5 in WordPress 4.5) is by far the simplest solution to this.

I found this snippet that could help change that version without having to modify the theme:

Add that to your child theme’s (or parent) functions.php to use it.

    Cheers
