ParticipantHi,
We have purchased your Events Calendar PRO plugin and we meet two issues couldn’t be fixed.1. String “Event Category:” can not be translated by WPML

It’s no result through search “Event Category:” in WPML strings translate page, and we have already translated any strings included keyword “category”, still doesn’t work.
2. Organiser/Venue link broken
Organiser/Venue link will be redirected to home page, instead of link to the correct page. Please help us to fix these problem, thank you!

ParticipantHi,
We have fixed the problem of Event Category translate, but we got a new issue.
There is a typo in event page with event information subtitle “Organiser”, it should be “Organizer”. “z” not “s”.

ParticipantHey William,
Thanks for reaching out to us! I’m glad you were able to find the solution to your original request here. For the other, the misspelled “Organiser”, which translation are you using there?
I just did a quick test with the “English” translation and got the correct spelling for that heading “Organizer” https://cloudup.com/cX3UcPe7gHp. Could there possibly be a modified translation file being used here?
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Josh,
Thanks for your response, we will check about the spell issue of “Organiser” later.
And here is still a problem is that the links of organizer are broken. ex:
http://www.khmice.org.tw/en/organiser/national-sun-yat-sen-university/
http://www.khmice.org.tw/en/organiser/society-of-colon-and-rectal-surgeons-taiwan/
Actually all links of organizer are broken in any language, we really this function work well.THANK YOU!

ParticipantHey William,
Thanks for following up with us here.
It looks like you’re using WPML on the site and having translations pulled in here? Do the slugs match on the backend as they do here, with the misspelled “organizer”? A couple of further thoughts:
- With the string translations available with WPML, are organizers and venues included there?
- Have you tried re-saving the permalinks (Settings > Permalinks) on the site to see if flushing the permalinks resolve the URL issues.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Josh,
That’s the problem still confuse us.;(
We did installed WPML and there’s no search result of string translate “organiser” but “organizer”.

So organizer is included there and allowed to translate. However, we will see “Organiser” on the event page.As for the broken url of organizers and venues, we have tried re-saveing the permalkink, unfortunately it is still not working. Could we just shut down the link feature?

ParticipantHey,
Thanks for following up with us.
I’m trying to figure out exactly what may be going on here. I believe the link issue is due to wherever the “organiser” spelling is established, however I’m having a difficult time nailing down how that can be manipulated outside of the translation files. A couple of questions to help here:
- what is the default language for your installation?
- When setting up WPML, what languages did you choose for translation?
- What other plugins do you have activated associated with WPML?
- Can you verify that the “Organizer” post type is selected for translation within the WPML translation management options?
Thanks!

ParticipantHey,
I haven’t directly addressed the broken link issue for the organizers because I believe the issue is that the wrong URL is being generated and using the “organiser” translation of that word.
I’m a little bit baffled at this one to be honest and feel it could potentially come down to a setting conflict or plugin conflict that we haven’t seen before with WPML. Would you possibly be able to send us a back up of the site that we’re able to check out the settings and files locally? If this is currently a bug, I’m not sure we’ll be able to identify without digging in further.
Thanks!

ParticipantHey,
Thanks for following up here.
Looking back over the thread, I believe I now know the root of the “Organiser” spelling. It looks like WPML English is set to English (UK) rather than English (United States) and the UK version does have the spelling here as “Organiser”. So, to modify this you can adjust the “en_GB” file to get the correct spelling which may help with the archive issue.
Also, we do have a strict policy that prevents us from being able to log in to client sites. I’ve deleted the login information for your security.
Thanks!
