Turn Existing Posts into Events

Dear Tribe,

I would like to know the following: I have an existing WordPress website with about 900+ events. These events are actually using the native WordPress post format. For a number of reasons I would like to install the Event Calendar PRO version to manage my events and I would like to know the following:

– Is there any way to turn my posts into events? I don’t want to spend months reimporting all events and I definitely don’t want to loose the likes, comments and SEO ranking that these existing post events have build over time (in the last 4 years).

I see that the EVENTS have a permalink slug called EVENTS. If I would remove that completely would that be enough to show my existing posts as events? My current existing events slug is just http://www.mywebsite.com/eventname

Any suggestions on how to achieve the above?

Welcome to our Pre-Sales Questions Channel! I’d be happy to help answer your question. I believe the route you’ve described above would not work. You would need to convert the posts to events, either manually or using a plugin such as Post Type Switcher. By doing a quick Google search, I see there are numerous examples of what you’re looking to achieve, so I don’t think it would be too difficult.
