Trying to put 'upcoming events' into home blog feed, in date order.

Hi there.

I know that you have an option in the settings to add the event list into the main blog feed on the home page but I was hoping I can get it to appear as it is on the main events feed. (List view would be fine).

When I turn the option on in the settings it doesn’t seam to have the events listed in date order or in a view that is user friendly… Its like an expanded view (I don’t know why i am telling you this… its your product, you know how it looks lol) Sorry.

Anyhoo.. Anyway of getting it to appear on the home page the same way that it appears on the main events page?

Thanks in advance for sharing your wisdom, I am still a major novice at all this.

To clarify, are you just wanting the event list on the home page the way that it displays within the main event list view or are you wanting them to display mixed in with your main blog posts on your homepage with just the events having the alternative view similar to the event list?

Hey Mark,

No problem. This will require some customization to your current theme.

What you can do is:

• Find where the home loop is being built within your current theme (most likely home.php or could be index.php or front-page.php if it’s a page set within the Reading settings)
• Within the loop (before any markup is output) do a conditional check to see if the post type is “tribe_events”
• If so, you can set the markup similar to what is added in src > views > list > single-event.php within The Events Calendar plugin
• If not, use the default markup supplied by your theme.
