I purchased the event aggregator. I have event calendar pro.

I have a csv file that contains 5 rows – 7 fields per row. The fields are: Subject, Start date, Start time, End Date, End Time, All day event, Category.

It says that the import was successful, but the events are not showing on my calendar. And it says it created new categories, even though they are not new categories at all.

When I update from ical, it works, but I can’t map the category fields which I ideally want to do. The csv file method will work best because the I am taking an excel spreadsheet and eliminating some events from that, saving as a csv and then importing. I can’t do that easily with an ical file.

Good evening Rosanne and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the issues you have faced while importing event using CSV files.
I would love to help you with this topic.

Ideally, I would need to have a copy of one of your .csv files to be sure, but it sounds like there might be a date format issue at play here. Would you mind sharing that ?

Additionally, if you have not already done so, I would highly recommend reading the following and sticking to the sample file’s format as closely as possible:

    1. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/importing-data-from-a-csv-file/
    2. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/csv-files-options-and-examples/

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

    HI Geoff –
I have attached the csv file that I was using. It is just a small sample file that I wanted to test with before importing a larger list.
I’m looking at the example file – can you tell me which ones are required?

    Thanks for your help!

    Good evening Rosanne,

    Thank you for writing back.

It looks like the attached CSV file did not make it for some reason.
Would you mind trying again using something like a dropbox or Google Drive link ?

    The only required fields are:

    • Event name
    • Event start date
    • Event start time
    • Event end date
    • Event end time
    • Timezone (not 100% sure about this one)

    Hang in there!

    Geoff B.

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
