ParticipantI found that if you don’t enter an end time, it won’t display. So I’m assuming that any meta info you don’t enter, won’t display. That’s great. That solves part of my problem.
It would be great, however, if each meta field would be wrapped in its own class, so you can control its appearance (and disappearance) through CSS.
I also found through browsing through the code, that the venue meta data will be placed inline with the details and organizer meta, unless you check the display map option.
Each of these meta categories (details, organizer, venue) are wrapped in the same class, so there’s no differentiating in CSS between them. I want the venue box to look differently from the details and organizer box…

ParticipantOne more follow up… here’s the documentation of where all the metadata gets registered and pulled from:
http://docs.tri.be/Events-Calendar/source-class-Tribe_Register_Meta.html
This seems to be part of the core plugin files, not part of the customizable views. Let’s say I want to edit a couple of things (e.g. take out the end time, or wrap some different classes around details, organizer and venue), would it work if you were to upload your custom version at yourtheme/tribe-events/public/advanced-functions ?

ParticipantHello ivanhi (and others),
First, thank you for your patience as we are experiencing an increase in support questions that come along with a launch such as this.
As has been pointed out, the single event meta is something that we definitely need offer more suport for in terms of documentation. In order to give you the best possible answer to your solutions, I need to bring this up to one of our lead developers so that I know exactly how we are going to guide you, our faithful users, in customizing event meta. Unfortunately, this means I will have to wait until Monday to get back to you with a real tangible solution, however, I will do my best to offer help as soon as I have some to give.
Cheers,

ParticipantMarc et al, I believe I answered some of your questions in the thread at https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/where-to-edit-meta-output-and-labels/. In case you were interested in more info about the meta registration and customization you can see the new tags we’ve added for managing meta at: http://docs.tri.be/Events-Calendar/source-function-tribe_register_meta.html. Functions to pay attention too are ‘tribe_set_meta_label’ and ‘tribe_set_meta_value’ since they are the easiest way to modify the display of meta on a template. If you check out https://gist.github.com/codearachnid/6015326 or https://gist.github.com/codearachnid/6015666 you can see ways to modify the display of event items from simple to advanced.
