tribe_get_events() query gets sorted by menu_order

On my queries that i use tribe_get_events, something changed over the past few weeks.
now, the queries have a “order by” of menu_order and afterwards the event date.
since the menu_order of my events are not in the correct order, by results are skewered.

Any ideas how to remove “menu_order” from the “order by” on the query?
