ParticipantHi Tribe,
What arguments should be passed to tribe_get_events(); to get it to only return the next recurrence of recurring events, instead of ALL of them?
For us, we have 7 events. Two aren’t recurring, but five are are (all year round, each once a week). When we use tribe_get_events(), a flood of results get returned. All we want are the two non-recurring ones, and only the *next* instance of each recurring event.
Suggestions? I’m stumped and I can’t seem to turn up a straightforward answer on this in your forums or in the documentation. As well, we can’t find any details on exactly what arguments can be passed to tribe_get_events() beyond what wordpress’s get_posts() already allows (ie: stuff like “eventDisplay” …. so, what else is there?). The documentation on the site is not the friendliest or explanatory. :\
Thanks in advance,
Andrew

ParticipantHello masteagall,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
I apologize for the inconvenience in using our plugin as well as trying to navigate the documentation through our site. We working on new site for The Events Calendar that will have a much stronger focus on search as well as updated tutorials. A detailed tutorial about “tribe_get_events” would definitely be a very valuable tutorial for us to invest in.
I actually did a little research and it looks like you can use ” ‘tribeHideRecurrence’ => 1 ” as an arg for tribe_get_events to hide multiple instances of recurring events.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Josh,
Thank you for the response. I must ask though, 1) *where exactly did you find this*? Surely here: http://docs.tri.be/Events-Calendar/index.html – but… where?
And 2) Is it possible to request a complete list of arguments that can be passed to tribe_get_events();? Surely a list must exist someplace. *?*
Frustrated,
Andrew

ParticipantHello masteagall,
Thanks for following up with us.
To be honest, I actually just stumbled upon that argument while searching for an alternative solution on our http://docs.tri.be site.
I understand and apologize for the frustration associated with not having a detailed doc covering that function. I’ve reached out to others on the team to see if they’re aware of something that currently exists. If not, it is definitely something that we’ll be looking into.
Thanks!

ParticipantThanks for the response. Please, *yes*, better documentation would be greatly appreciated and immensely useful to all… including to you and your fellow staff it seems (as you just happened to have stumbled upon the answer yourself). To be honest, team members of ours have found the experience of working with your products to be an uphill battle because of this oversight.
Thank you again for the quick reply,
-A

ParticipantHey masteagall,
Thanks for following up as well as for the useful criticism for our documentation.
The problem in the past was the difficulty in searching our http://tri.be site. That was something we really worked on when moving to http://theeventscalendar.com. We’ve had a lot of great tutorials and resources that weren’t able to be easily found on the old site that should be a little more easily accessible now.
Additionally, with then new site we went back and updated or created several dozen tutorials and have a commitment to continue to expand and refine our documentation and tutorials. A better page on “tribe_get_events” is now in the works.
Do you notice an improved experience when trying to find information on the new site? We definitely appreciate and look forward to any comments you may have.
Thanks!
