ParticipantHello,
We’re currently having some issues with a Javascript error in the TEC Community Events plug-in, similar to an issue found here (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/jquery-conflict-2-1-0/). Much like the other thread, we are also using a forked version of FoundationPress which has the conflict, but it’s not trivial for us to move off this custom theme at this time.
You may see a version of the JS error in the attached URL
Any way you can help us take a look at what the issue is? We use a github repo on WP Engine and I’m happy to share the code repo of the theme with you directly.
Thanks,

ParticipantHey Chris,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
We are limited in the amount of support we can provide for theme specific conflicts such as these but I’m happy to take a look.
Would you mind either allowing anonymous submissions for your calendar on staging or providing me with a temporary subscriber login (not admin credentials) so I can see the submission form page on the site?
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Josh – apologies for the radio silence. So we do have a newer version of jQuery in our theme, mostly because we are using a FoundationPress fork and the newer version of jQuery goes with this. I’ll double on my development server, but I’m pretty sure we are unable to de-prioritize jQuery because we’re dependent on other pieces of functionality.
So given that, do you have any workarounds you can recommend?

ParticipantHey Chris,
The first step I would take here would be to verify that this is the full root of the issue that is happening on your site.
If it is, the best solution would be to find a workaround for your theme javascript to work with the enqueued version default to WordPress. You could pursue modifying our javascript, however most plugins anticipate compatibility with the default versions of jquery shipped with WordPress and you could potentially face other conflicts in the future.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
