ParticipantHi,
Our event details pages include an embedded Tribe Events Google map in the sidebar. The issue we are seeing is that that zoom and pegman button icons are rendering incorrectly. I’ve included a screenshot of the issue so you can see what I’m talking about.
Disabling plugins does not seem to help, but we have noticed that the icons do render correctly when using the default twentyfourteen WordPress themes. So this looks like it may be some sort of template conflict, but it’s such an odd one that I was hoping you may be able to at least shed some light on what’s going wrong.
Thanks,

MemberHey Aaron,
That’s certainly odd!
Do you happen to know if you are using a custom template for the single event view? The reason I ask is that the layout looks quite different from what comes right of the box with The Events Calendar, so perhaps there is a customization in that template that would help pinpoint the issue.
You can check for custom templates by opening up your theme folder and looking for a subfolder called tribe-events. Let me know if there is anything in there.
Worst case, we’ll suggest checking in with the theme author for clues.
Let’s start here and see what we find!

ParticipantHey Geoff,
Yes we do have a custom template for the single event view.
It looks like that template references a custom sidebar to build the area containing the map. The map itself is generated by echoing tribe_get_embedded_map(), passing no parameters.
Thanks,

MemberCool, thanks for the info!
Just to eras any doubts, do the map controls look correct if you switch to the default WordPress Twenty Sixteen theme? I see that you mentioned having tried that, so I want to see if this is specific to the theme. If you could provide a screenshot of the map when switching theme, that would be awesome as well.
Thanks,

ParticipantSorry for the delay. Yes, the controls do look correct in the Twenty Sixteen theme. Screenshot is attached.

MemberThanks for confirming!
In that case, it sounds like there’s something in the custom template — or perhaps the theme itself — that is throwing things off. I’m afraid that is tough for us to troubleshoot since we are unfamiliar with the code for the custom template and the theme — however, if you are able to pinpoint the issue to a specific spot, we’d be happy to look at it and see if there’s anything we can suggest on our end.
