    Hello.

I have an issue with the events calendar plugin. I have a wordpress instalation with a bought template. The language for my wordpress is spanish, but the translations in the calendar are partials. Some words are in spanish and other words are in english. I dont know why. I need all in spanish. I looked the files and seems ok.

    Thanks for your attention.

Good evening Julio and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

When translation file strings are not kicking in, it is usually caused by one of the following things:

    1. Your translation files are not up to date
    2. You are using some customized translation files that have been placed in the /wp-content/languages/ or /wp-content/languages/plugins/ folder. These might not be updated and will override any other file.
    3. The strings are translated, but are considered “fuzzy”

In the first 2 cases, the solution is to update your translation files using the pot file. You can do this by using the Poedit software and heading to Catalog > Update from pot file.

In the last case, you will need to make them “unfuzzy” using Poedit.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

Hello and thanks for the answer.

The translation files are updated from the admin panel. I dont have the .pot files so i cant update the files using the .pot file. Neither i never have used Poedit so i dont understand you mean with “unfuzzy” (i have the free version).

    Regards

    Good evening Julio,

    Thank you for writing back.

Full disclosure, we are fairly limited to the amount of support we can provide for our free plugin users here, in our pre-sales forum.

You are more than welcome to pursue the conversation here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/the-events-calendar

With that in mind, I would still like to at least send you on the right track.

I highly recommend reading the 3 following articles on translation:

These should answer most of your questions.
Even if you never performed any changes, it is possible that your translations file need to be updated or that your specific version of Spanish is incompletely translated.

    Have a great day!

    Geoff B.
