GuestHey guys, thanks for such nice tool. I am translating the ukrainian version, and also editing it manually in my .mo file. Can not find the word “Keyword” for translation and “Events for Month” in the .mo file I have downloaded from your official site.
%1$s for %2$s is it “Events for Month” – all is translated except “for” it stays in english oO
How can I fix this two things?
Thank you!

MemberGood evening Alex and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!
Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions. If you have not already done so, I highly recommend reading the 3 following articles on translation:
- https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/how-to-override-plugin-language-files/
- https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/incomplete-translations/
For “Keyword”, the term seems to be there (https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/the-events-calendar/stable/uk/default?filters%5Bterm%5D=Keyword&filters%5Buser_login%5D=&filters%5Bstatus%5D=either&filter=Filter&sort%5Bby%5D=priority&sort%5Bhow%5D=desc)
For “Events for Month” you are correct, this is not a full string. It uses variables (as you have guessed). But here again, I believe that the string should be in place (https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/the-events-calendar/stable/uk/default?filters%5Bterm%5D=for&filters%5Buser_login%5D=&filters%5Bstatus%5D=either&filter=Filter&sort%5Bby%5D=priority&sort%5Bhow%5D=desc)
What might be going on is that the po/mo files are in need of some updates. This sometimes happens with our releases.
We typically try to fix it by the next upcoming release. Here are the most typical causes:
- Your translation files are not up to date
- You are using some customized translation files that have been placed in the /wp-content/languages/ or /wp-content/languages/plugins/ folder. These might not be updated and will override any other file.
- The strings are translated, but are considered “fuzzy”
In the first 2 cases, the solution is to update your translation files using the pot file. You can do this by using the Poedit software and heading to Catalog > Update from pot file.
In the last case, you will need to make them “unfuzzy” using Poedit.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!
