translation (localisation) breaks venue links

Hi there!
I have EC PRO and Community Events installed and everything is working fine apart from the venue links…
The thing is if I leave the ‘Venues’ label untranslated – than it’s ok.
But since I’ve translated the EC PRO .pot file the ‘venue’ in the link is translated as well and gives me a 404…
If however I delete the translation – the links are back to ‘venue’ and everything works fine…
Now, I don’t really have a problem with permalink structure being based on ‘venues’ but I can’t leave the venue label on the single events pages untranslated and it seems to be ‘ruled’ by the same source text in the .pot file…
I’ve already tried flushing the permalinks, and since the website in question has a lots of traffic I can’t change the theme or unplug the rest of the plugins…
Any advice?
