    Hi,
    I got a problem with the translation, I translated everything but a few thing I can’t translate and can’t find it in the translation file.
    look at this url:
    http://hevorosmalen.nl/agenda/week/
    The words are, next week, previous week, the date should be 5 in stead off 5th, and 7AM should be or 24 hour’s or without the am pm.
    Other question can I let the week agenda start at 8am, so ther isn’t a blank field at the beginning?

    Some elements of the calendar, such as days of the week and month names, are translated by WordPress itself and not via our plugin translations. This means that if you do not have the WordPress translation files loaded for your language you will see some untranslated words in your calendar, even with your language set in wp-config. To fix this, you’ll need to download and install WordPress for your language. Then the Week View (and other Views) should be fully translated.

    Our plugin does not currently support 24 hour time, so there’s no way to show time’s without the am/pm. We do hope to add this in the future, however. You can encourage us by adding your votes to our UserVoice thread for this feature.

    You might be able to change how the Week View displays to remove the All-Day Event space, but it would require you to customize the plugin. You might start by taking a look at our documentation. Customizations like this are beyond our scope of support, so you’ll need to pursue this change on your own.

    My website is in Dutch with the latest translated files from WordPress (26-1-2014), I searched for ‘previous’ and ‘next’ week and they are all translated in the nl_NL file. Everything is translated except these few words, what can that be? Do I have to edit the core files for this?

    I voted for the 24 hour’s option.

    Hello rvb,

    Sometimes even if the string looks like it is translated in the .po file, it won’t map onto the site because the .po file itself is outdated. But you can update the file with the latest strings and it will get it working again- I just did it on my test site.

    To fix the translation, open the nl_NL.po file in PoEdit. Then select Catalog –> Update from POT file in the menu. Select this .pot file. That updates the strings. Then save the file in a different location. You’ll see that it saves not only the .po but also a .mo file. Move those into the /lang file for Events Calendar PRO, replacing the existing ones. Then refresh your site and you should see the Next/Previous week links properly translated!

    If you’re interested, I’d love to have you totally update the Dutch translation for The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO. That will fix other strings and allow other users to have an up-to-date translation.     I have the same issue in the german translation.

    But my question, why do I have tot do it this way?

    Hi Robert,

    Each piece of text in a WordPress plugin has a corresponding line number, and that’s how translation files are able to replace the original English text. Whenever we release a new version of a plugin, the line numbers may shift and lines of text are added, deleted, or changed. Updating the translation files with the latest .pot file updates the translation file with any new lines, line number changes, etc.

    If our translations were updated more often this would not be so much of an issue. We rely on volunteers to help with our translations, and sometimes a few versions go by before we get someone to update a translation. Does that answer your question?
