My single event page does not get translated. I checked the po and mo files and they are fine. My calender page gets translated and so does the rest of my content. I also followed the translating directions from here but nothing changed.
Any idea what it could be?
April 13, 2016 at 10:51 pm #1102311Geoff B.MemberGood evening Craig and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
There could be a couple of things going on.
The most likely cause is that sometimes the language files packaged with the plugins are not necessarily up to date. My recommendation would be to grab a copy of the updated versions here to see if that makes a difference: http://translations.theeventscalendar.com/projects
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

Thanks for your reply.
This did not solve the issue unfortunately. Anything else i can try?P.s. I’m not Craig. lol
April 14, 2016 at 7:40 pm #1102813Geoff B.MemberHey Elian,
First off let me apologize for calling you Craig. I think it’s only fair for you to call me Craig for the rest of this conversation if you want to 😉
As a first troubleshooting step, before I make another recommendation, could you please provide us with your system information in a private reply ? (following the instructions found in the link)
Best regards,
Geoff B.
April 18, 2016 at 6:50 am #1103736ElianGuestHi Craig :P,
I’m looking for the option to make private posts but it’s not there. Probably because i’m not signed in but i cannot seem to find the option to sign up so far… 🙁
April 18, 2016 at 8:16 pm #1104037Geoff B.MemberGood evening Elian,
Yes, you are absolutely right, you only get the option to sign-in if you are one of our premium add-on customers.
So, we have a couple of options on how to handle this:
- You could share you system info publicly (not the login, just the list of plugins and versions)
- You could reopen this question on our public forums: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/the-events-calendar
Let me know what you decide,
Best regards,

April 19, 2016 at 4:40 pm #1104608Geoff B.MemberGood evening Elian,
Thank you for the system information.
I ran a couple of tests and here are my findings:
- I need to rename the files downloaded from: https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/the-events-calendar/stable because they did not have the correct name
- I updated these files from the latest .pot file (there were a couple of differences)
- I replaced the files found in the /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/lang/ folder with the newly refreshed the-events-calendar-nl_NL.po and the-events-calendar-nl_NL.mo files
- I switched my WordPress language to Nederlands (not the Formeel one)
After doing this I can successfully display single events in Dutch.
Could you try the procedure on your end?
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,
Geoff B.April 25, 2016 at 7:41 am #1106624ElianGuestHi Geoff!
Thanks for your reply again. I followed the steps but so far no result. Date and Time do not get translated. I might have made a mistake so i’m gonna try again. I can find the translations in the .po/.mo files, that looks good ( I even added the caps version to it just to be sure ) but somehow it does not translate it.
I’ll let you know if i get better results on my next try. 🙂
April 25, 2016 at 3:15 pm #1106839Geoff B.MemberHey Elian,
If I understand this correctly, everything else worked (but the date and time). Can you confirm?
If that’s the case, the displayed time should be a reflection of:
- The WordPress time setting Settings -> General
- The Events Calendar time setting Events -> Settings -> Display
The other thing that might be going on is that you have some template customization for the single view.
Can you try looking for a /tribe-events/ folder in your WordPress theme directory ?Best regards,
Geoff B.
