Tribe Events Calendar Pro adds thousands of transients to our database, and although it does seem to delete them, the table is ballooning in size and overhead due to fragmentation and we have to manually optimize to clear the space. Does Tribe really need to add all these geoloc transients? We disabled mapping and we still get tons of these a day. If there was a way to kill of the geoloc transients altogether, that would make Tribe Events Calendar Pro a more attractive option.

    thanks!

    Hi there!

Thanks for emailing support. The geoloc is built in to the plugin and we definitely look to enhance our plugins so we appreciate the feedback.

Often when transients get expired, they stay in the database. If you want to clean up your wp_options table, then you can use this plugin called Delete Expired Transients (third-party, not guaranteed or supported by us).

Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions on this topic.

    Thanks,
    Brendan

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
