Transferring website to new host – transfer license?

I’m in the process of transferring one client website to a new hosting service. Unfortunately, due to complications with the existing host service and the loss of a lot of data, I am unable to transfer the existing license from the old site to the new site. I get an error message that I am only able to use the one license (Yup that makes sense).

I have to keep the existing site live, and the new site (on a staging site) will go live at the weekend but I need to ensure the transfer is seamless and the calendar will immediately be active on the new site. How do I do this? Will my existing key activate the Pro verion as soon as I move the site to the new hosting service? Thanks for the help.

Hi,

I can help out here.

Not to worry even if the License is not activated for Pro, Pro will still work right away on the new server.

You are able to disconnect the License in your Account on theeventscalendar.com under the license section of your profile, then you can go to the new site and add the license there.

I was hoping that I could activate a temporary license so that the staging site and the current live site would both work….but suspected, as you mentioned, that I will need to deactivate the one for the other to work. Thanks a mil Brian for the heads up.

Both sites will work with all features even if you do not have a license in one, but yes only one can have the licenses connected to our site.

I am going to go ahead and close this ticket, but if you need help on this or something else please post a new ticket.
