Hello,
I’m so sorry for asking this b/c I know it’s going to be open ended. Is there some type of beginner’s guide for this?I really have no idea where to start on styling the event calendar. As you can see, http://kudzuculture.com/events/, looks horrific. I know I can style with before and after HTML tags. I just don’t know what to style. Is there a list of elements somewhere?
Just being able to “shrink” the gargantuan calendar would do wonders for my sanity. Everything else I can deal with as I come to it. Thanks!

We’re building out more and more on the documentation front every week; what we’ve got right now is at https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/ – I’m this week (and likely into Monday or Tuesday) putting together a primer for new users on how to do the basics with the plugin, and we’ve got our developers putting together little tutorials on how to modify the look/feel along the way.
Beyond the documentation, we’ve aslo got help videos (https://theeventscalendar.com/category/help-video/) and FAQs (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/faqs/) that we’re constantly adding to as well. It sounds like the issue you’re having could be resolved with a template override, discussed in the first question in the customization section of that FAQ.
On the most basic level, have you tried the different templating options available under Settings –> The Events Calendar? One of the different options on the dropdown may help with the gargantuan calendar aspect. Let me know if this helps!
