Top portion of event popup (when mousing over events in month-view) is cut off

This only happens on the top row of events, i.e. the first week of events. I guess its best to check the site itself to see what’s happening. http://www.coloramamusic.com/events. Would upload a screen shot, but I don’t see that option here.

I notice that you mention that you tested with a default WP theme. Did you see the same behavior then?

I’m guessing this has something to do with your theme’s menu bar. Have you had a chance to ask your theme developer about it?
