I bought The Events Calendar Pro. Then I wanted some addons, so I just bought the $200 bundle. I’ve spent nearly $300 here, and I want this to work, but I’m really, really frustrated.

    1. The Event Aggregator isn’t pulling in details from Google Calendar. My forum question about that has received no response yet.

    2. Now that I’ve added some events, The Events Calendar Pro seems to be drastically slowing down the website. I had no issues with speed until I added a handful of events. Now it takes 20+ seconds to load the main calendar page and (for some reason) the home page.

    3. I bought the Filter Bar as part of the bundle, but apparently it ONLY works on the main calendar page. Had that been clearly stated up front, I never would have bought it. I’m displaying events on multiple pages, and users need the ability to filter them everywhere, not just the main calendar page.

I’m sorry, guys, but I really feel like I’ve been ripped off. For $200-300, these issues just shouldn’t be there, and if they are, then support should be much quicker in dealing with them.

I either need to get a solution to these problems or a refund. At this point I don’t care which. I’m holding up launching a new site for a client because of these issues.

Good evening William and welcome back!

First off, I would like to apologize for the delay answering.
We are currently experiencing a higher level of requests than usual.

Please rest assured that we are working hard at correcting this situation.
We appreciate your patience while we try to normalize things.

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about that you did not have a smooth experience so far.
I would love to help you with this topic.

    1. The Event Aggregator isn’t pulling in details from Google Calendar. My forum question about that has received no response yet.

It looks like you are in great hands with my colleague Barry on this topic. I will let him continue that thread with you.

    2. Now that I’ve added some events, The Events Calendar Pro seems to be drastically slowing down the website. I had no issues with speed until I added a handful of events. Now it takes 20+ seconds to load the main calendar page and (for some reason) the home page.

    Yikes! That is huge.

There are surely a couple of things that can be done to help with that.
For starters, I would recommend reading the following:

Additionally, you might want to play with the Create recurring events in advance for setting under Events -> Settings -> General as well as use the Enable the Month View Cache setting under Events -> Settings -> Display

    3. I bought the Filter Bar as part of the bundle, but apparently it ONLY works on the main calendar page. Had that been clearly stated up front, I never would have bought it. I’m displaying events on multiple pages, and users need the ability to filter them everywhere, not just the main calendar page.

I believe you are referring to the fact that the Filter Bar is not yet compatible with the different shortcodes.

Please know that this feature is definitely on our roadmap and you will be contacted as soon as it’s out. But alas, I cannot offer a release date yet.

It is a shame that this specific feature was the main reason you bought the filter bar in the first place and that it is not ready at the time of writing.

The good news is you are fully entitled to a refund if you want one since you are within 30 days of your purchase.

I’m sorry, guys, but I really feel like I’ve been ripped off. For $200-300, these issues just shouldn’t be there, and if they are, then support should be much quicker in dealing with them.

I totally understand why you would feel that way provided your unlucky streak.
We are terribly sorry, especially considering that this is the exact opposite of the experience we want our valued customers to have.

With that in mind, you should know that we take support very seriously and work really hard at improving all aspects of it: speed, quality, maintenance, etc…

But, as you have found out, there are unfortunately some bumps in the road on our way there.
Thank you for sticking with us so far!

I either need to get a solution to these problems or a refund. At this point I don’t care which. I’m holding up launching a new site for a client because of these issues.

Hopefully my answers and those of Barry will get you one step closer to being able to launch a site.

    Hang in there!

Hi, Geoff. Thanks for your very thorough and professional response. It means a lot. It definitely took a long time to get support started, but now that Barry (and others) are working on my tickets, things are moving along as I expected.

Regarding site speed, I’m not sure what the problem was or what changed, but everything is running smoothly now. Weird, but I’ll take it. 🙂

Regarding the filter bar. I’ve figured out a way to make it work with the filter bar only on the main calendar page for now. I very much look forward to when it is implemented into the shortcodes, however.

Again, thanks for following up. I’m looking forward to using the product. Hoping to launch this client’s site any day now!

    Good morning William,

I am super stoked to hear things are moving along swiftly.

If the performance issues ever creep back in, please let us know.

Kudos on finding a workaround for the filter bar!

You are welcome back in our support forums any time 🙂

For now, I am going to close this thread.

    Have a great week!

    Geoff B.
