We’re currently importing 100+ Facebook Pages events and noticed things getting slower and slower. Now we can not access the Facebook Tab in the import module. When it is clicked, it just spins away and doesn’t do anything.

Our goal is to add MANY more pages for our city’s live arts and music events and venues. The concerning part is now we have two major funding sources and are in a crunch to get more events added but can’t ensure the new events are being added. We can add them into the Import tab and save new pages to the list, but we can’t access the listings on the Facebook Tab within the Import module.

My organization will be using this feature for several communities going forward and many will be larger than our current project. Should this be something we need to be concerned with going forward? Do we need to shift our hosting site to a new service that may allow us to tinker with the server settings a bit more? We’re currently with GoDaddy.

Thanks and so far, without the Events Calendar Pro and Facebook import, this project would have never even got off the ground!

Hey Eric, thanks for reaching out!

You know, I saw another thread like this recently and it turned out that Facebook Events does have trouble processing scheduled imports from more than 25 Facebook pages. I remember testing this out with the customer on that thread and we found that the timeouts stopped happening when the number of scheduled Facebook imports was down from 100 to something around 25 or so.

That’s the bad news. The good news is that we are in the processing of releasing a new product called Event Aggregator that we’re planning to ship in about a month and it will take the place of the Facebook Events plugin. What makes it different is that the imports will take place on our servers instead of yours and scale much better for massive data imports like this.

We’re currently in beta and, while we know there are a few bugs left to iron out, I’d highly encourage you to give Event Aggregator a shot — we’re looking for feedback from power users such as yourself and I could see you help make the product even more polished for the official release — plus, this will get your hands on the product sooner to start importing more events. 🙂

Is that something you’re interested in? If so, please provide your email address at the bottom of this screen and we’ll hook you up.

    Thanks!

Heck yeah! I appreciate you jumping in there. We’re excited to get Event Aggregator out and I think you’ll love the improvement it will bring over Facebook Events. 🙂
