GuestHi,
I have a couple more questions…1. Our church has the need for separate calendars, for instance, one for Adult church, one for the High School Ministry, and one for Middle School Ministry.
My question…Is there a way that all of the events for each of the areas listed above can be put into one calendar, while still having the ability to have just the events displayed for that particular ministry area.We need this capability because each age group has their own section of the website. My preference would be to have their calendar show their appropriate content by default, (without the user having to filter the events).
Can EC Pro accomplish this goal for us?
2. We also have the need for the High school ministry events and the Adult church events to have their own separate iCal feeds. And while its still important for staff to have one calendar that displays everything that’s going on church-wide; is there a way to achieve this goal of two separate iCal feeds and still keep all of the events on one calendar?
Thanks for any help and advice you can give!

MemberHi Aaron,
Thanks for following up with us! Questions are what we’re here for; happy to try and help out! 🙂
- It sounds like event categories may be the best and quickest way to achieve what you’re looking for here! You can categorize your events by the type of attendees as you’ve indicated here (“Adult Church”, “High School”, etc.), and bringing up one of these category views will display a calendar housing only events for that particular group. You can simply link to the appropriate calendar from each site section; category calendars all follow the basic naming convention of [yoursiteURL].com/events/category/[category-name]. The master calendar displaying all events across all categories would remain accessible at [yoursiteURL].com/events.
- I’m afraid that our iCal exports are static files and not feeds that remain up-to-date with changes on a live site. However, we do have support for RSS feeds of events, including category-specific feeds; these would be accessed by simply appending /feed to a category calendar URL as indicated above (i.e.[yoursiteURL].com/events/category/[category-name]/feed).
I hope that helps! Let us know if you should have any other questions! 🙂
