ParticipantHi,
I’ve posted 3 events. The time zone is correct on the January and February but incorrect on March.
https://emilyjourney.com/event/seo-success-interactive-workshop/
I have it set to New York time zone but it is displaying as EDT (Eastern Daylight time) for the March occurrence. What the heck is that?
My Columbus, OH clients understand EST. Not, EDT.January 12, 2016 at 9:31 am #1054698Geoff
MemberHi Emily,
I believe March is when things change from Standard to Daylight across all timezones that differentiate between the two.
You can choose to hide the timezone abbreviation by heading to Events > Settings, un-checking the box at the bottom of the screen (screenshot) for “Show timezone” and then saving the settings.
Also, I noticed that the Next and Previous month links on your site have a little design glitch (screenshot). You can clean that up by adding this to your theme’s style.css file or by using a plugin like Simple Custom CSS:
#tribe-events-footer .tribe-events-sub-nav .tribe-events-nav-previous, #tribe-events-footer .tribe-events-sub-nav .tribe-events-nav-next { background-image: none !important; }Cheers!

ParticipantYou are awesome. Thank you!
Although, I do wish the EDT time zone didn’t automatically show up if that makes any sense. In Columbus, Ohio, we use only EST. The EDT time zone confuses the locals! And, I can’t just turn off the option because I offer events nationally. So, time zone is important.
I will make do. Perhaps a change for the future?
BTW, I frequently recommend your plugin to my training clients. We actually install it and I give people a quick tutorial on how to use it. It’s great!
All my best,

MemberThanks for following up, Emily! Man, I really appreciate the kind words and the fact that you’re loving The Events Calendar enough to recommend it to your clients–that’s awesome!
Timezones are definitely a tricky thing and I’m sure there are ways to handle them even better, so feedback like this is great. If you have any ideas on how the timezone settings could be more flexible for specific uses cases, like this, I’d love to see them in our feature request forum. That will make sure it gets on our radar.
I’ll go ahead and close this thread since you had marked it Resolved, but please do feel free to hit us with a new thread if any other questions pop up–we’d be happy to help. 🙂
Cheers!
