Tickets with user selected date?

    I look after the website for my angling club. We will be moving over to WooCommerce soon to sell our annual membership online, but we would also like to be able to sell “day tickets” online as well. Day tickets can be used on any day of the year, and the user must be able to select the date they require. We would want the ticket emailed to the user, and also be secure in that they must be tamper proof and only valid for the set date. Is something like this possible with your system?

    Thanks for reaching out to us!

    To clarify, it sounds like you need a system that allows users to select a ticket for a specific date and then only allow that purchased ticket to be checked-in on that set date.

    Our current tools wouldn’t allow this out of the box, however with a bit of customization, I’m sure you could create a system that allowed you to utilize just our Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus plugins and add a date field as a custom meta for the tickets. From there, you could

    Unfortunately a customization like this would also be beyond what we’d be able to provide support for here in our forums.

    Thanks for the quick response Josh,

    Yes, you are correct in how we would like the system to work. Our users will almost certainly purchase a day ticket in advance, say during the week so that they can go fishing at the weekend. The ticket we then email to them must only be valid for the date they have selected, and we would obviously not want them to be able to tamper with a printed ticket or e-ticket so it could be used on another date. We have bailiffs that patrol our waters, and it would be their job to check-in any day ticket holders that they come across. We don’t have that many bailiffs, and a lot of water to look after, so it is possible that many day ticket holders will not be seen and get checked-in. This has always been the case however, as we currently only sell day tickets as a physical item through local tackle shops and I am not sure how many actually get checked!!

    So, should you think this is possible with Events Tickets Plus after a little customisation, and we go ahead and purchase a license (I am already using (and love!!) Events Calendar Pro for the site), am I correct in thinking we can get further support to help us with the customisation?

    Thanks for following up here!

    Unfortunately we wouldn’t be able to provide support or complete guidance in handling a customization like this. I would be happy to provide support on how to use certain filters or manage certain functions when trying to implement something like this but I wouldn’t be able to help in architecting a solution from the start.
