Hi – I just want to make sure I understand correctly:

The community ticket cannot support recurrent events, is that right?
Whenever there’s a purchase, the ticket issued with one of the recurrent event bears wrong date and link (always link to the first starting event in the past); and the sales / attendees reports are wrong as well (the purchase is reflected in the very first event). Is it the case?

If so, it’s quite a shame, because Event Calendar Pro is really a great tool to use for recurrent events…pity that ticket cannot go with it properly…

What’s the best way to go around this? Do I have to break the event one by one out of the recurrent series, and re-issue the ticket for each event? Or can I replicate the event (instead of making so many copypaste)? Or shall I just leave the Event Organiser’s contact information in the ticket so that the buyer get in contact withe the Event Organiser directly? – That’s really not idea to have the wrong date on each ticket…

Good evening Huiwen and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

Actually we currently do not truly support recurring events with Event Tickets Plus in general (not only with community tickets).

You can read about that here: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-event-tickets-plus/

Whenever there’s a purchase, the ticket issued with one of the recurrent event bears wrong date and link (always link to the first starting event in the past); and the sales / attendees reports are wrong as well (the purchase is reflected in the very first event). Is it the case?

    That is correct.

Currently, integration is limited to one set of tickets for the whole series.
The tickets are all then tied to the first event of the series.

    The only “workarounds” are:

    1. Use a snippet to only display the tickets in the first event of the series to avoid confusion (however I do not believe this would be helpful to you).
    2. Create the recurring event series to save time, then break each of these event from the series, then create tickets for each of these individual events.

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have unfortunately.

Or can I replicate the event (instead of making so many copypaste)?

Another solution is to use any Post duplication plugin that supports custom post types (Events are a custom post type). For example, this one works well: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicate-tec-event/

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Hi Geoff,
Thanks for confirming my thoughts and for the suggestions. That’s exactly what I did – created the series first then broke the event one by one and issued the tickets accordingly.
I think I can also use “clone me” to copy the event and changing the date, but still, need to issue new tickets.
I hope that this is something that EC/MT will sort out in the near future. It’s quite pity as “recurrent events” function is such a good adds-on. Pity that tickets can’t go with it.

    Good afternoon Huiwen,

    Thank you for your understanding.
You are correct about the duplicate plugins, it will help you save time when it comes to event creation, but you still will need to add tickets in there.

I agree with you. In fact, this is something we have already started working on this highly complex project: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/3685663-recurring-event-support-for-tickets

You are welcome back in our support forums any time 🙂

For now, I am going to close this thread.

    Have a great weekend!

    Geoff B.
