ParticipantI entered/saved info for a new event. The event is free, I did not enter a SKU (not necessary), and didn’t upload a ticket image (again, not necessary). I entered all necessary information – sale dates, price (free), etc. However, when I attempt to add a ticket to my cart – nothing happens. It kicks me back to the same page. Any guidance you can give me?

ParticipantOk – figured out the issue above (didn’t have Cart and Checkout pages linked properly)
Now that that’s sorted – I need to know how to change the display of both pages. The cart page, using the woocommerce_cart shortcode, displays REALLY wide. The checkout page does the same. Can someone help me with the css I need to change the border, or margins?

ParticipantHowdy Elizabeth,
I am happy you were able to get the pages added. That’s definitely going to help with the cart issue.
I see that the pages are pretty wide. I believe this is actually because the pages themselves are set to use a wide template. If you go to the WooCart page, edit it, and change the Template to a different one it will likely fix things. You probably have a number of templates to choose from, you might try each of them and see which one suits your needs best.
Does that all make sense? Did that work for you? Please let me know.
Cheers!

ParticipantThat definitely does make sense! How do I access the WooCart page though to change the template? I was looking for that, but I couldn’t find anything.

ParticipantI think I found it!

ParticipantJust kidding, I found a page that wants me to purchase an additional service? I already paid for WooCommerce – do I need to pay to use the cart as well?

ParticipantOh no! You don’t need to purchase anything else. WooCommerce should be sufficient. When you install it it adds a few pages, these can be found in WP Admin > Pages. You might checkout Woo’s Getting Started guide, it helps you with the first setup and config, it is a very informative step-by-step.
That get you where you need to be?
Cheers!

ParticipantI’m still having trouble finding these templates? I’ve gone through every option on both the Cart and Checkout pages, and I can’t find anything to change the width or layout. I’ve also looked through the guide you sent, and every solution I find directs me to some theme or plug-in I need to purchase.
I’m really sorry to be a pain here – I’m working for a client, they are getting angry that the page looks so silly, and I’m just stuck as far as how to fix it.

ParticipantThe only template option I see when I click ‘Quick Edit’ from the pages window is Default Template.

ParticipantWhen I enter the full edit page, along the right-hand side, under Page Attributes, where the page template drop-down menu should be – there is no drop-down menu.

ParticipantInteresting. Thank you for elaborating Elizabeth. It sounds like your theme probably only has the one “Page Template” option, hence why it is hiding that box.
In that case you are left with having to perform a fairly advanced modification to your theme. That’s very possibly not something that’s part of your skillset. You will usually need to know the computer programming languages PHP, CSS, and have a decent understanding of the WP API in order to modify those pages.
If you don’t have that sort of knowledge, you might contact your theme author and ask for help, or look into a different theme that does not have this issue with WooCommerce. Keep in mind too that this is an issue specific to WooCommerce, and not actually related to our plugin. Thus, if you do ask the theme author for help you needn’t mention our plugin as its not related to the problem.
Please let me know if you have any more questions.
