Hi, Paul! Welcome to the Modern Tribe community. 🙂 We’re very happy to have you here.

These are great questions! First, I want to make sure you know about an excellent resource available to you. For step-by-step instructions to walk you through WooCommerce Tickets from set up, to making your first ticket, and beyond, please check out our New User Primer, linked in the right sidebar under Useful Resources.

From your description, it sounds to me like you were able to setup and configure tickets and make a purchase. That’s fantastic! Then, the two emails that you receive are the ones from WooCommerce saying that an order was processed.

This is a quirk of the WooCommerce engine, but you now have one more step to do. You need to go to the Orders screen in the WooCommerce plugin and mark the order “Completed”. Then, the next two emails, including the one with the tickets, will be sent. (If you’re interested in automating the completion process, please search the forums for suggested solutions. Please remember this is part of WooCommerce functionality, so we’re not really the experts on it here.)

You can then view attendees and orders for a given event from the event editting screen in The Events Calendar. There should be a could of new links that appears after you create a ticket. Those are the ones you want: http://d.pr/i/FIV4 As the organizer, you will not receive an email with the tickets. Only the customer will.

Hopefully, that helps get you on the right track. Let me know if you have any further questions. 🙂 We’re always happy to help!

Thanks. Yes all setup correct. Thing is, I do not eceive a copy if the email outlining the chosen event after inset order to completed. With some events being every day for a year, I’m guessing when it comes to attendees.

Why is this information not visible on the tickets payment page where you set to completed? Variable products are.

So yes. I still cannot find what workshop buyers have chosen!

Hi, Paul. This sounds really frustrating for you. I’m truly sorry for that.

After an order is completed, the email with the event info and tickets is sent to the purchaser. The purchaser’s info will then appear in the Attendee List.

If you place a test order and set the email address to yours, you should receive those emails after the order is marked completed. Are you saying that no emails are sent after the order is marked completed?

If that’s the case (and you’re not even getting the second one from WooCommerce, you may need to take this up with the WooNinjas. Our tickets email is only sent after the second one from WooCommerce.

    Thanks! 🙂

Kelly. I understand that the attendee list is associated with the ticket. I fi have seven daily recurring tickets over 52 weeks how exactly can i find thats finer details? Are you suggesting that i manually login and go through every ticket and look at attendees? Ridiculous.

Emails are being sent to customer. But not to me! That email has all the details i need to calendar in a time, date and venue for the paying customer. Its not a solution but at least i can see what they have booked!

It looks like a poor system if this this is the only way i can see attendees at a glance. Surely as admins we should have a calendar with booked events at a glance. What if there are more than one admin?

Even if the ticket page where you set to complete had this information? So yes, still no solution.

Hi, Paul. It’s starting to sound to me like there’s a disconnect between what is offered in our product and what you expected when you purchased it. I’d like to apologize for that, along with all the frustration it’s caused.

These are definitely interesting requests, and I can see value in them. If you’d like to pose them in our User Voice forum (https://tribe.uservoice.com), we’ll absolutely consider them as we plan future feature sets. Indeed, if other users like the ideas, they’ll vote your suggestions up, and the community’s demands will be clear.

I’d like to point out that the stock/product management frustrations that you’re encountering are largely a question of WooCommerce functionality. Our add-on makes no attempt to modify their core behaviors but rather taps into them to provide the integration with TEC. The issues you’re reporting seem like more of a quirk of WooCommerce than something we’ve designed.

I hope you don’t mind me asking if we falsely set your expectations somewhere that WooCommerce Tickets would do all the things that you’re requesting? If so, would you please kindly point us to that document or post so we can ensure that others don’t face the same disappointment in the future?

For now, I can only say that the features that you’re looking for require a significant customization, and that’s, unfortunately, not really within our support limitations. If you’d like to pursue this with an outside developer, we’d be happy to give you a list of suggestions. You’re also encouraged to search through the forum threads to see if others have found workarounds that might suit your needs.

Thank you for being part of the TEC community! Please let me know if you have any other questions on this.

Kelly. I appreciate your reply but it has nothing to do with woo commerce. The fields are there to populate when you see the ticket processing from processing to complete- but they are not filled.

This plugin seems to lack many core elements yet more plugins are being added and developed. Surely time spent in providing a way for admins to actually see purchased tickets should not be a request but a core part of the ticket plugin!??

So let me get this straight. I add a ticket and its price. Dates. Venue. And associate to an event in the calendar but when purchased admins get no details sent to them such as price. Dates or Venue?

So as an admin we spend hours populating events and tickets and products. Spend countless $$ to integrate the calendar and tickets to products because there are still no short codes- and now we also have to manually login when we get a sale and look through every ticket by hand to see the dates chosen by the user?

I think that its a fair assumption to make that fields you add to an event actually get sent to you once a ticket is purchased? I’m shocked that there is no way of seeing this.

Can i suggest that rather than constantly developing plugins that no one needs that some core features such as short codes and managing sale/ location dates is part of this paid plugin.

Surely there is a solution? A hack or something. Can’t you just add a tick box in ticket settings to send a copy of the ticket to an admin?

I’m so disappointed with the vagueness of support in here. Its like no one actually understands the product they are selling!

Hey Paul. Rob from Modern Tribe here; I head up the support team here and Kelly passed your note my way. I apologize for your poor experience so far – it does sound like we falsely set your expectations as to what to expect from this plugin early on, and we failed you majorly on that front. As Kelly noted in her last message if there’s anything you could point us to that we can change – product pages, primers, whatever – so others don’t face your same experience down the road, we sure would appreciate it.

Paul, unless I’m misunderstanding a core element of this ticket, what you’re noting is an issue with WooCommerce. Once you’ve reached a stage where you’re manipulating/changing order statuses on the backend of your site, you’re no longer working with our plugin…you’re working with WooCommerce and the behaviors there are based entirely on their codebase. Our plugin is not meant to be an event management tool; it’s exists to add a simple ticketing feature by tacking onto WooCommerce’s capabilities.

A few of the other complaints you raise – perceived missing functionality, the lack of shortcodes – are disappointing, since we try to be pretty clear about what the plugins do / do not accomplish upfront. Likewise it’s a shame to see you taking shots at totally separate plugins and the comprehension of the support team in one fell swoop. At the end of the day we’re just a group of people who love doing cool things with WordPress and it should be apparent by the archive of past threads that we work every day to make people happy.

I sincerely wish you the best of luck in this endeavor, and we’re absolutely willing to help do what’s reasonable within the confines of our support system. But we will not be able to provide customization work or build custom integrations for you. I really want to get this relationship back on track and would be happy to discuss this further offline if you email me directly (rob @ tri.be); but if we’re unable to come to an understanding as to what support does/doesn’t entail, and if we cannot establish a base level of respect on both sides, I think it might make sense for us to refund your money and direct you to a competitor who can better meet your needs.

Rob. I simply want a copy of the ticket emailed to admins as awell as users.

Daily event for 52 weeks. Various times and soon to be venues.

    http://shop.paulpetch.co.nz/shop/workshops-for-photographers-new-zealand/mastering-using-your-camera-in-manual-mode-exposure-workshop/

Now, how do admins manage ticket sales if nonone knows what time, date, venue and topic has been purchased!?

Putting aside the “its woocommerce” at fault. Lets move forward and fix this clearly obvious fault of this plugin. If a copy of the purchased event is mailed to the user via woocommerce from the events plugin- why not the admin too.

I have several plugins installed and they have a tick box to “send copy of email to admin”.

Refund is not an option now i’m afraid as i’ve invested more than $1500 US to get this thing integrated. And currently it looks like more to get it working as an event ticket plugin.

So, what code do i add to simply send a copy of the “ticket”? A genuine fix would be appreciated as to date i’ve had no help coding any of these plugins into my business website.

Paul: thanks for the followup. I understand that you want a copy of the ticket emailed to admins as well as the users, and can appreciate your reasoning behind it. But I’m not sure how much clearer I can be in saying that this is unfortunately not something we’re going to be able to provide. If we had unlimited time and resources to write users a snippet or build out the appropriate templates every time a situation like this arose, we absolutely would. But in reality we have to balance the needs of all our users here on the forum and need to prioritize bugs and other integration issues, rather than building functionality. I can see how you view this as a shortcoming of the plugin but I absolutely take issue with the claim that it’s an obvious fault (you’re indeed the first person I’ve seen requesting it). Especially since the WooCommerce plugin does appear to allow order notifications (though not ticket notifications) to be emailed to site admins, and which should be workable for tracking ticket orders.

We do plan on enhancing this product with new features in the future and if there’s enough interest/demand in this (as per our UserVoice) we will definitely make it a reality. But right now it just isn’t possible by default. That said, a good developer could almost surely accomplish something like this for you. And if you were willing to dig into the code, our docs (http://docs.tri.be) are here to help. The support team here is always able to try their best to point you in the direction as well.

Perhaps an add-on like this (http://docs.woothemes.com/document/advanced-notifications/) or something similar would suit your needs. But as I mentioned here we are going to be unable to do much beyond that here and I really appreciate you understanding where we’re coming from on this. If you have other questions, comments or thoughts please don’t hesitate to email me directly (rob @ tri.be). But I am going to close this thread for now.
