Where do I start with debugging if the weekly event posts only work with my wordpress default theme? I can see the weekly view just fine, but it does not populate any events. Here is my site: http://www.castleview.org/events/week

Sorry for the delay first of all.
That’s definitely strange, can you indicate what theme you are using/which theme it is based on (if it’s a customization of an existing one)?
The theme I started with is call “Foursquare Two” (you can see it at http://wordpress.foursquare.org). The code is available here: https://github.com/foursquarechurch/Foursquare-WordPress-Theme

Using just a clone of that repo (though none of the other plugins it says it depends upon) week view works just fine for me.
Is there anything else I need to know here – settings, plugin tweaks etc?
I’m still not sure what is wrong. I’ve deactivated all of my plugins and even copied over the css verbatim from foursqaure two theme and it still does not work. I can get only the week view to show the events when I switch back to the default twenty thirteen theme.
Hey Joshua. Thanks for the follow-up; that’s really weird. Does this occur when you’re using both the Default Events Template and Default Page Template? Do the plugin-specific stylesheet settings have any impact (ie, reverting to none) in bringing back the events?
Please give those a shot, as they’re about the best I can offer up at the moment. Let me know how it goes and I’ll see if Barry has any other ideas from there.
I tried removing all theme css, and switch to both the default events template as well as the default page template. Still no headway.

I do see a Javascript error which could be affecting things, bearing in mind I couldn’t replicate this when using a copy of that theme I wonder if something else – another plugin or some customization made in your theme’s functions.php file – might be impacting.
I do appreciate you noted that you had already tried these steps, but I just want to be certain that you’ve tried the following variation:
* Keep your theme activated
* Deactivate all other plugins, even those apparently related to the theme
* Clear your browser cache and visit week view
* Does the problem still persist?
