GuestHi,
I tested The events calendar (free version) for my site, and will certainly keep it because it’s the only one I’ve found out there that will integrate with the main WP loop and display events like ordinary posts, with the correct date too (not the post date!).
I’ll certainly upgrade to Pro because I need the extra features and the calendar widget, but there’s one thing I haven’t figured out and I that I need an answer on before committing my hard-earned $$:
The appearance of the events among normal posts in the homepage loop is near perfect (thumbnail, date and title), except for one thing: the category of the post is not shown, which is normal since you’re not using the normal post categories, you have your own. I need to get the code line that will display the event’s category, and I haven’t found out how to this despite perusing for a long time through all your documentation.Currently, the line that displays the normal post category is this:
<div class="entry-categories"><?php the_category(', '); ?></div>
I need to complete this line with a condition that will distinguish between normal and event posts, and of course the code to display the event category. If you even tell me that this can be solved by premium support after I’ve bought the pro version, it’s good enough for me!
Thanks for your help and reading my long post,

MemberHi Roger,
I’m glad you like the plugin and it’s great to hear you are thinking of upgrading to PRO 🙂
I can’t answer your question directly here (since we don’t provide technical support in the pre-sales forum) but it’s certainly the kind of question we regularly field in the premium plugin forums and I’m sure one of the team would be happy to point you in the right direction if as one of our new license key holders you post there.
(Remember also that the community forums at wordpress.org are open to you – and you might find other helpful users can assist there, even if you don’t purchase a license key.)
Thanks!
