ParticipantWe are a non-profit that has just decided to purchase the Pro version because we are having compatibility issues with the calendar and our theme. We are still in development on a localhost.
First, the “View As” option does not allow us change the calendar view. The mouse pointer behaves like “View As” is clickable, but nothing happens. Second, when we try to search for anything using the search box, we are returned to our site’s index page.
I have switched our theme to Twentyfourteen and disabled all plugins except The Events Calendar, which resolved these issues. When I returned to our chosen theme (Deleware child theme) with other plugins still disabled, the problems returned. This has led me to believe that we are having a theme conflict, but I’m not really sure where to begin tackling these problems.

MemberHi there, Kathleen! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the forums. We’re stoked you jumped on board and went PRO. 🙂
Sorry for the issue here. I also really appreciate the initial steps you took to try a default theme and disable other plugins–that’s a huge help!
It does sound indeed like there a theme conflict at play. It’s a little tough to troubleshoot something on localhost, but the first thing I would suggest doing is using DevTools to see if any specific errors pop up in the console. For example, I wonder if there is a javascript error in the theme that is preventing the View As menu from properly behaving.
I wish I could be a little more helpful here, but I do think that contacting the theme author will ultimately be your best bet here. If you have a live link to share, I’d be happy to take a look myself, but I do think that the theme author will be better suited for identifying where the conflict is coming from and how to correct it at that level.
Cheers!

ParticipantI will definitely get in touch with our theme developer. In the meantime, I don’t know if it helps, but I noticed the following:
When we click on “View As”, our URL changes from http://localhost/wordpress/events/ to http://localhost/wordpress/events/#
And when we search for something (in this case “knitters”) using the search bar, it returns us to our index page but the URL displays as http://localhost/wordpress/?tribe-bar-view=http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost%2Fwordpress%2Fevents%2Flist%2F&tribe-bar-date-day=&tribe-bar-search=knitters&submit-bar=Find+Events
Would either of these occurrences provide any additional insight?

MemberOh yeah, that hash at the end of the URL typically means that the something isn’t being triggered in the javascript. If everything seems to fire off correctly in a default WordPress theme, then there’s likely some javascript in the theme that’s causing the conflict. Please do keep me posted here and let me know if the theme author comes back and whether there’s something we can do on our end to help out!
Cheers,
