DAVIS
ParticipantHello,
I am using the Jkreativ theme, but the Map View on Events Calendar Pro will not work while it is activated. I checked with the 2014 theme and it worked great.
I have contacted the theme developer, but they are not very helpful at all. There was another conflict and they told me they would not help. If I hadn’t spent six months designing the website with their theme, then I would switch, but the site is going live in one day, so that is not an option.
The map view was a major reason why I chose Events Calendar Pro (we have customers and events in four states).
Will your team be able to help? The site is on my local machine and is not live yet, but I can send whatever information you need.
Thanks in advance for whatever help you can give!

MemberHi,
Sorry for the issues you are having.
The source code is not useful to dig through to find issues and I am limited in support theme compatibility issues per our terms and conditions.
I would like to take a look though, but it appears you have the site on a localhost.
Is their anyway you can share a link for a copy of the theme and I can load it in a test site? Or have site put onto a staging site somewhere?
Let me know and I can help out from there.
Thanks

MemberHi,
Thanks for providing that.
Also, I deleted the source code in the private replies to reduce the length of this thread.
I loaded up the theme and saw this issue:
TypeError: $(…).jnormalblog is not a function
Line 1705I am not sure where that is in the theme, but fixing that may resolve the Map View Issue.

ParticipantThank you Brian! I have no idea what that means. I have posted the info you gave me on the theme help forum to see if they will help.
Is that the only think that you found that could be causing the conflict?

MemberHi,
I am not sure if that is the only thing. That was the only thing that jumped out at me. It really depends on how all the features are setup too.
One thing to look into to see if it helps is to change the Event Template:
Head to this page:
Events > Settings > Display Tab
Then change this setting:
Events Template to Default Page Template
Or you can change it to Default Event Template if not there and see if that helps.
Thanks

MemberHi Davis,
Just filling in here while Brian is out and wanted to make sure things are still moving here. 🙂
Thanks for the development site link–that is super helpful!
I do see a Javascript error in the console when I view the site–were you able to check Brian’s suggestion of whether you are using the Default Events Template under Events > Settings > Display? That would be one step to help block any theme conflicts from poking through, but it’s not a guarantee since some themes are more invasive than others.
Let’s give that a shot and see what we find.
Cheers!

ParticipantGeoff,
Thank you for the response. Yes, I am using the default events template. I apologize for not stating that in my last reply.
The plugin developer sent the following replies (maybe they will help to solve this):
“hi thedaviseffect, we see this error : TypeError: g.markers[i].setMap is not a function tribe-events-ajax-maps.min.js:1:2791
you can try to ask author of those plugin. they may have clue what happening. from what we know, its not file on our themes. we will only able to provide support if the problem is on our themes end.”
And then another:
“hi davis, after looking some referrence about problem you having, it seems we have similiar javascript file between plugin you using with ours themes. one of us need to change one code that causing problem, well instead you going back forth to your plugin developer, you can try to use this code : http://pastebin.com/zXGEhJQD
and put it on jkreativ themes folder > public > js > internalmin > jquery.jcommon.jsif you are using cache plugin, try to disable it first, and try to clean your browser cache. and let us know the progress.”
I copied the code they provided, but it did not work.
Thanks again for your help. I will be launching the website in the next few days. Hopefully we can get it figured out before it goes live.

ParticipantThe theme developer has solved the issue with the following code:
“hi davis, can you try this code instead.
http://pastebin.com/wwfHBLrkit seems the plugin is prevent any other themes / plugin to extend Array on javascript. previously i try to change our JavaScript function name that related to array extending. and now we not extending javascript array anymore. but use normal function. hopefully it can work now.
Thank you”
Hopefully this will be a permanent fix. Thank you again for all of your help!
I am sooooooooooo happy the map view is working now!
