ParticipantNow I have tested for conflicts and the it seems that the events calendar pro and the Cosmos theme “pressevent” have some how become incompatible. They worked together for years but no longer. I am running the latest versions of both.
When I click on an event I instead of the event displaying I get the message “Nothing found” twice. As this involves two different word press products I get the feeling I am going to get caught in the “it must be the other programmers problem” trap.
Any clues how I might approach this?November 25, 2016 at 11:31 pm #1197719Geoff B.
MemberGood evening Christopher and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about your theme being conflictual with our plugins.
I would love to help you with this topic.Could you please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme / child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.
Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made.Have a good week-end,
Geoff B.

MemberGood evening Chris,
Thank you for trying this again.
I am still not seeing the Cosmos theme (which I believe is this one: https://themeforest.net/item/cosmos-creative-wordpress-theme/410183 )
However, I am seeing the Press Event theme that matches your system information.
The issue with the Press Event theme is that was in the file is out of date (version 1.0).
This version contains several deprecated functions that are no longer in use in WordPress since version 4.3.The first thing I would recommend is updating that theme to version 1.3 (https://themeforest.net/item/pressevent-event-management-theme/2196163)
That would certainly help. In fact, if you can send me a copy of that version via Dropbox, I could try it as well.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

MemberGood evening Chris,
Thank you for the files and the good words. It’s truly appreciated.
I have some good news, the 1.3 version of the PressEvent theme does not seem to have any type of conflict with our plugins.
That means that we need to find out why that is not the case on your installation.
To verify if you indeed have version 1.3 installed, you can simply head over to Appearance > Themes.
Once you are there, place your cursor over the PressEvent theme and click on “Theme details”.
Something else that might help is to head over to Settings > Permalinks.
Once there, simply click on “Save Changes”. This will rebuild your website permalinks.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

ParticipantOk
I have deleted the old themes and done a fresh install of the latest theme. Still getting the problem. I am running 1.3 (latest).
Tried adding new events (perhaps the old events are no longer valid) still the same problem.December 9, 2016 at 10:44 am #1204064Geoff B.

MemberHey Chris,
I am super stoked that this was helpful to you.
What my second point meant was that if you go over to Events -> Settings -> Display, there is a dropdown menu available for the Events template option.
Depending on the theme, some of these options might or might not work.
The only way to find out is to try them out.Typically, the Default Event Template always works, regardless of the theme.
In your theme’s case, it looks like this is the only available option, since “Default page template” does not work (and it was set to that).
In any case, the important part is that it now works.
Let me know if you any other questions.
Best regards,
Geoff B.
