I have searched the forums and knowledgebase, but I can’t find this particular question.

I’m using the Swedish translation, and I have already updated all 4 language files (events, events pro, tickets and tickets pro), AND placed them in wp-content/languages/plugins but there is still one word that is not translated in the details box on the single event page, see picture. I have searched the language files but I can’t find anything I might have missed.

Can you help me and tell me where to change this?

My events are not yet published, I want to get everything right before I do that.

Good evening Bengt and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

This might be caused by a glitch during our latest update.
Some of our language files were not updated in the latest release.

This is impacting our free the Events Calendar and premium the Events Calendar Pro plugins.
A fix is on the way for that.

In the meantime, here is a copy of the updated files for Swedish:

    1. tec_swedish
    2. pro_swedish

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Hi, Geoff!

    Sorry, it didn’t work.

I deleted my updated files from wp-content/languages/plugins and used the files you provided and placed them in the plugins’ catalogs (in wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/lang and wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/lang) but it didn’t help.

Since I have used personally updated files, it also took away my changes, naturally.

I also noted that these files have much fewer strings than the ones I use (which are the ones that was included in the latest release, but updated by me).

Can you find anything else that I can change?

    Thanks!

    Good evening Bengt,

    Thank you for writing back.

I am sorry to hear that the suggested solution did not work.

With that in mind, we still have a few options available:

    1. Anytime there is a plugin update, you will need to update your po/mo language files if you choose to customize them (like the ones you had in /wp-content/languages/plugins/
    2. The way to do this is to update the po files from the pot fileThis can be done in Poedit using Catalog > Update from pot file

This way you can have your own version of the language files AND make sure that they are up to date.

That being said, you are right. There can be quite a different number of string from one version to the next. This is especially true if you have not updated your language files for a while.

The good news is that we should release working pot and po files for the Events Calendar and premium the Events Calendar Pro plugins as part of the maintenance release scheduled later this week.

This means that you should be able to update your personal language file from that pot file and everything should work.

The last thing I would recommend is taking a look at your Polylang plugin since I realize some of the translation is handled through there.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.
