ParticipantThe toggle for “Show only the first upcoming instance of recurring events” seems to have disappeared from our live site. On a development version of the site I’ve got which has outdated versions of The Events Calendar (4.6.17) and The Events Calendar Pro (4.4.22) it does work however.
On both sites I’m embedding the events via [tribe_events view=”photo”]
I definitely have the option in the setting set for “Front-end recurring event instances toggle”, and I’ve resaved the settings thinking that might change things.
Any ideas?

KeymasterHi Gray,
Thanks so much for reaching out!
Can you take a screenshot of what you see there under Events Settings < General?
I have not been able to replicate the issue that you are describing here, and I’d like to see what you are seeing.
Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!
Thanks,
Jaime

KeymasterThanks for providing that information.
The shortcode page that you linked to is a broken link. Would you mind checking it and re-sending?
Also, which shortcode are you using to display your events on that page?
Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!
Thanks,
Jaime

ParticipantI’m sorry, I meant to show you http://yogaunioncwc.com/events-yoga-union/ or http://yogaunion3.staging.wpengine.com/events-yoga-union/ on the staging site. We’re using the [tribe_events view=”photo”] shortcode.

KeymasterThanks for providing me with that information.
I do see the issue on your site, however I am not able to replicate the issue on my own test site. In other words, when I use the shortcode, I still see the toggle option available.
In that case, as a first step, let’s try to rule out if there is some type of conflict at play.
This is usually because of:- A conflict with another plugin
- A conflict with your WordPress theme
- A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating
When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.
A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.
The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.
Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.
But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:
- Make a backup of your database
- Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)
Let me know how that goes!
Thanks,
Jaime
