The Filter Bar will not show options

When users/readers of my site click on the words “show filters” nothing happens other than the screen jumps to the top of the page, but the filter bar never opens to reveal options.

I’m so sorry this is happening. Since I can’t recreate the issue on my end, I’d like to look into this further. Can you tell me what browser you are using?

Can you start by going through our Testing for Conflicts Guide https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/?  I am wondering if you might have a plugin or theme conflict.  Begin by deactivating all other plugins, using a theme such as Twenty Seventeen https://wordpress.org/themes/twentyseventeen/, and see if the issue still persists.

Also, double check for any other updates available (Dashboard » Updates). 

Please let me know if the issue still persists after these tests.

I did not see this message till today. However, despite my using Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Safari I continue to experience this problem and several others with my calendar.

The next step in troubleshooting is to check for Javascript errors. Using Your Browser to Diagnose JavaScript Errors.

I did a quick look and saw 22 errors. Can you check into these?

I’d also suggest testing these with all other plugins except ours disabled, and using a default theme, such as Twenty Seventeen https://wordpress.org/themes/twentyseventeen/.

I have a custom built theme that has worked with other calendar programs fine. I can not install a default theme without significant consequences to the rest of my site. I see three errors though I do not have the expertise to understand what they mean or what is causing them.

We’d really suggest testing this on a staging server or at least making a duplicate of your site into a private sub-directory on your server. Unfortunately, we are a bit limited in what we can support without clients disabling all other plugins and trying a default theme. Please let us know when you can test this out.
