Craig
ParticipantWhen I activiate my EC Pro all of my events display unexpected data at the bottom of the post. When I deactivate the EC Pro, the text goes away.
I am also using The Events Calendar: Community EventsExample of the text:
#leftcontainerBox { float:left; position: fixed; top: 60%; left: 70px; } #leftcontainerBox .buttons { float:left; clear:both; margin:4px 4px 4px 4px; padding-bottom:2px; } #bottomcontainerBox { width: 50%; padding-top: 1px; } #bottomcontainerBox .buttons { float: left; margin: 4px 4px 4px 4px; } http://www.google.com/calendar/event?action=TEMPLATE&text=Parking+Fundraiser+Opportunity%2C+CHS+vs.+Dobson&dates=20121005T180000/20121005T213000&details=Event%3A+Chandler+HS+Varsity+vs.+DobsonStart%3AOctober+5%2C+2012+7%3A00+pmEnd%3AOctober+5%2C+2012+9%3A30+pm…&location=88+West+Erie+Street%2C+Chandler&sprop=website:http://216.172.187.87/~wwwchand&trp=false” class=”gcal-add” title=”Add to Google Calendar”>+ Google Calendar

MemberHi Craig – I note that you have tried deactivating other plugins, but have you also simultaneously tried reverting to a default, unmodified theme such as Twenty Eleven?
Is it possible that modifications have been made to core plugin code? Can you try uploading fresh copies of both The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO, overwriting the existing ones?
Thanks!

ParticipantThanks for the feedback Barry,
I tried the full delete and reinstall of TEC and TEC pro. I tried it on twenty eleven. I uploaded the newest version of my Theme (Headlines) I tried in on both Chrome and IE9, and tried with a number of different templates.Nothing works. I always get the same result.
With TEC alone activated, there is no iCal import button and the screen is clear with the previous event breadcrumb listed in the lower left corner, and the next event breadcrumb in the lower right corner.
When I activate TEC pro, i get a volume of code that is light blue underlined as if it is a hyper link. The code is in between the ical import button and the breadcrumbs for the previous and next events.

MemberHow strange. Is this the correct URL?
http://216.172.187.87/~wwwchand
(If so, I took a look at this event but couldn’t identify the problem.) If you could give me instructions to let me see this that would be great.
Thanks!

ParticipantThanks for looking in to this. You had the right url, I had deactivated TEC Pro due to this issue and the problem only manifests when TEC Pro is active.
I have reactivated TEC Pro. If you try it again you will see the issue. I’ll leave it activated util I hear from you.

MemberThanks Craig – quite interesting. Here’s the problem code http://pastebin.com/bBwYTdru – basically, where there should be a link to Add to Google Calendar a style element is being injected right inside the href attribute.
This is of course “illegal” HTML and shouldn’t be happening. Even more interestingly, the exact same style element http://pastebin.com/jsUj9Dbu can be found throughout the page in various places, which is strange both because style element belong in the head of the document and because the exact same CSS is being repeated so many times.
There are a few possibilities here.
1. Another piece of code, whether in your theme or another plugin, is filtering the output of the tribe_get_gcal_link() template tag, using the aptly named “tribe_get_gcal_link” filter, and is inserting the style element (even though it shouldn’t be).
2. You, a colleague or a designer you have employed has customized the single.php template. The piece of code responsible for generating the GCal link (which looks like this http://pastebin.com/AT0wD9vn and can be found around lines 120-122) may have been modified.
3. Another piece of code is somehow injecting this into the page via some different means. I don’t really see anything in the standard templates that ship with our plugins that would create the particular pattern of mark-up.
Either way, the problem is that a style element is being injected into the page and I feel pretty confident that this is the result of something other than our plugins.
Does that give any clues at all that might help you to resolve this?

ParticipantThank you SO much! Upon reading your response, I decided to try and start deactivating recent plugins. I decided to start with those associated with Google. I noticed a plugin for Google Plus 1 that had some foreign language text in the title so I picked that first to deactivate. Voila, problem fixed.
In the event that someone else experiences this problem, here is the plugin that caused my problem:Google ‘Plus one’ Button by kms
WordPress bővítmény a Google +1 (plus one) gomb elhelyezésére. Megjeleníthető bejegyzés előtt, után, illetve az írások mellett bal oldalon úsztatva is.
