The Events Calendar opens to previous months events instead of current mo events

Overall the Events Calendar Plugin renders events perfectly….the Events calendar page opens to previous months events instead of current month events….Today is September 1st, 2018….
For example>>>
http://keithvandouglas.com/events/
Renders Events for August 2018
rather then Events for September 2018
The only way to get Sept. 2018 events to render on the page is for user to click inside Events In ‘Date’ box and select the ‘highlighted’ current month of September.
Please advise!
