Testimonials

I organise tons of events and trips for a community I manage. Very soon I will open up a BuddyPress section on my site. I would totally love the idea if members of this community could write testimonials about specific events, preferably from their BP profile. I would like to show these reviews (a) all together on one page or in a sidebar widget and (b) for one specific event or event categorie in a widget.

The idea is to show testimonials of all events on the events calendar in a sidebar (either list, month, week, picture view etc). When someone is vieiwing a specific event, I want them to see the specific testimonials for a past edition of that event and trip.

What solution /plugin works best with The Events Calendar and could you recommend me?

This sounds like a pretty cool feature! I unfortunately don’t know of any plugin that would enable something like this specifically, but a plugin may not even be needed – while well outside the scope of support we can provide on the forums, unfortunately, this customization may only require the following things:

• a new custom post type called “testimonials” → https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/register_post_type
• some customizations to various views of The Events Calendar which will display these testimonials on event pages, which you can learn about here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/
• a custom page template which will show “all testomonials” → https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/template-files-section/page-template-files/page-templates/
