    hi there,
as discussed in the past with a supporter from this forum in here i upgraded to the pro version to see how it fits and works for me and my needs. first of all your plugin seems to be the best event/course manager for me. BUT there are also show-stoppers for me and my company. First of all i strongly need to avoid duplicates when a event takes place more than one time. because we will be found mostly via google search and google punishes duplicated content. the next is that the dates if a event or course takes place on 3 times are displayed on one single event page (all dates together) and the customer can decided on which date he/she wants to attend. so creating recurring events should have in best case the possibility to add automatic recurring dates like weekly or monthly or then the possibility to add manual a second or third date if the event recurres not in a daily or weekly period.

So is there a way that your team can handle this features as a project? (if this is finished you can roll it out a a update)
or at least can you provide me some good developers/freenlancers that might be able to do that.

    cheers and the best,
    joerg

Hi there, Joerg! Thanks for getting in touch. Never fear, your thread is most certainly open. 🙂

First off, thanks for taking the plugin for a spin! It’s really the best way to get a feel for how the back end works and see how it might fir your specific needs–so, great work.

First of all i strongly need to avoid duplicates when a event takes place more than one time.

The good news here is that recurring events do not have the same impact as duplicated content. WordPress tries to add a canonical link during the wp_head action and what The Events Calendar PRO does–when a single event in a recurring instance is being viewed–is remove the WordPress callback and substitutes it with its own. This helps each instance index as original content.

the next is that the dates if a event or course takes place on 3 times are displayed on one single event page (all dates together) and the customer can decided on which date he/she wants to attend.

That’s a nice feature request! In fact, we’d love it if you could add that to our UserVoice page as something to consider for a possible future release.

We would be more than happy to share a list of freelancers who might be able to help you out with this sort of custom development. Please drop us a line at support [at] theeventscalendar.com and we’ll send it over. You can reference this thread in the email for context.

Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know and thanks again for reaching out. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hi Geoff,

currently i am working with a developer on the customisation. it seems that i will have another plugin then. one for workshops (events) and the other one is your eventscalender for creating appointments .. both will work together .. via custom posts. i hope you guys will not change that much in the next updates so that everything breaks down.

i will let you know when the customisation is hopefully finished.

    Cheers
    Joerg

    Excellent to hear, thanks Joerg!

It sounds like we’ve hit all the questions in this thread, so I’ll go ahead and close it. If you run into anything else during installation, customization or development, please feel free to start a new thread and we’d be happy to help you out there. 🙂

    Cheers!
    Geoff
