Hi Marek. Sorry to hear you’re having display issues.

Did you try just our Community Events plugin with the Twenty Fifteen theme and not like how it looked? Or did you possibly have a theme conflict that you needed help troubleshooting?

Do you have links or screenshots for me to review?

Please let me know how you think I can best help you.

    Thank you.

Whoa. That’s of course “way bad” (that’s a technical term 😉

Could you please provide me a link to investigate? (I’ll look for Chrome Console errors and possibly some styling conflicts.)

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

sorry for delay, we had a break with the development. The link is http://elsa.org/events/community/ and is going to be available from today 14:30. We are changing the DNS by then to a new server.

Hi. I see you’re using the Ronneby theme, which doesn’t explicitly state compatibility with our plugin, like some others do: ThemeForest themes compatible with The Events Calendar / PRO

I didn’t see any Console errors, which is always a good thing.

Your theme has quite a few styling rules that affect all <form> and form field elements.

    Here are some examples:

http://elsa.org/wp-content/themes/ronneby/assets/css/app-1.css seems to be the main cause of the styling issues.

    • It affects the TinyMCE Buttons. (FYI: You could uncheck “Use visual editor for event descriptions” in wp-admin > Events > Settings > Community tab if you don’t want to mess with the Description textbox TinyMCE button styling.)
    • It sets all ‘select’ and ‘input’ form elements to 100% width (e.g. the hour, minute, am/pm selects and the datetime inputs).
    • It has a rule for ‘table tbody tr:nth-child(even)’ to add alternating background coloring (gray/white).

I hope you can see the issue is not with Community Events, specifically. It is simply a <form> with form fields. Your theme adds styling that doesn’t look good. It’s up to you to determine if you want to customize the styling for your own usage of the theme.

If you decide to customize your theme’s styling, please let me know if there are any tweaks you can’t quite complete and maybe I could help.

    I hope this helps 🙂

It worked! Kinda. Now it shows double times and in basic html style. Any ideas?

I’m glad you’re getting things moving forward!

Unfortunately, I’m unable to help anymore with getting your theme to properly display HTML form fields for Community Events, due to our Scope of Support Terms stating we only support working with WordPress default themes like Twenty Fifteen.

Please continue working on your site and update this thread or create a new thread if something small/specific comes up that I may be able to help with. If you do, please make sure to provide screenshots and background information.

    Thanks a lot!
